General Information About Me

I never know what to write on these things so here's an attempt.

I'm 18-years-old and studying toward a Bachelor in Veterinary Science at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia, which, as you can imagine, keeps me extremely busy and up to my ears in study, or head-to-toe in extremely unflattering blue overalls when we do animal handling. I admit now, I really don't like sheep and cows - for some reason they irritate me. Cats, dogs, horses, and (surprisingly) pigs, are much more to my liking.

In my spare time I am a swimming teacher for 2 - 8 year-olds which I adore and would do for the rest of my life if it were possible (damn the fact I have to eat, pay rent etc. etc.). I swim myself, though not as frequently as I should, (can still do 1500 metres in 20 minutes though - so I'm still doing well!) I am currently writing a novel (in my fairly non-existent spare time) which is progressing fairly slowly. It's a rather...odd story, and delves into the depths of cartharsis, hallucinations and obsessions among other things. Hopefully I will finish it and actually get it published. A bonus would be being able to live from the profits but that's probably not particularly realistic.

I am apparently extremely 'intolerant' but prefer to think of it as being 'quick-tempered'; it has a much nicer ring to it. One of my number one hates are any sentences that begin with but not limited to: 'Well, obviously...", "Apparently...", "Clearly...", "As a matter of fact...", "I think you'll find...", "In all reality...", "Speaking as one who knows that they're talking about...", "I'm sorry, but...". "Actually...", "Therefore...", "I beg to differ...", "Now, don't take this the wrong way, but...". There are a number of others, but those are definitely some of the worst. They could be entitled 'How to sound like a pompous arse!'

Every test I've ever done regarind Hogwarts' houses has placed me in either Gryffindor or Slytherin, so apparently I am brave but manipulative. I am still deciding whether or not this is insulting. However, it is rather accurate, though I make an effort not to manipulate, it's just so very easy. People can be very gullible. Ah well.

If you haven't guessed from my stories my favourite literary characters are Minerva McGonagall, Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy. I'm not sure why, but these women dominate every scene they're in and in my opinion are greatly underused, both in JKR's novels and in fandom. All of my stories feature at least one of these women as they're just so much fun to work with and their characters are so fascinating.
